Data Analytics in a Smart Nation

Learn how Raspberry Pi and Python can come together to create a data acquisition node. Program the Pi to extract meaningful data from the collected datasets and how this information can be used. Get a taste of developing smart sensors for our Smart Nation. Raspberry Pi will be used as the platform and the workshop will be taught using Python programming language.

Through this series, you will get to learn to integrate sensors onto Raspberry Pi to acquire data, organising them using data structures in Python and storing them locally as well as in the cloud. In Part Two of this workshop, you get to work with your own data to extract the valuable information from multiple sources for analysing.

Connect into a Smart Nation Series

Learn how Python can be your gateway into the world of Internet of Things (IoT). Smarten up your devices and get connected in this workshop series, where you get a taste of developing a Smart Nation.

Through this series, you will get to learn how to code a 2-player game over a network as well as use physical physical buttons to control your character. Create your own classroom response system. In this workshop, you will be able to gather results from multiple sources in order to generate a response data. Also learn how to manage your data and extract meaningful results from your sources! Raspberry Pi will be used as the platform and the workshop will be taught using Python programming language.

Python Programming on Microcontrollers

Be a coder today by controlling a traffic system using the Raspberry Pi microcontroller. Learn how to connect up electrical components on a breadboard and interface them with your Raspberry Pi. Participants will be taught how to interface Python with the LED lights, to bring about an interesting and enjoyable challenge to set up their very own working traffic light! This workshop is taught using Python programming language.

Scratch Programming on Microcontrollers

Make use of Scratch to code a simple game on a Raspberry Pi microcontroller. Add-on boards will be used as a console to give participants a chance to create their very own console game! The workshop will be taught using Scratch programming language.
